Supporting Conservation and Education through Photography
The Nature Photography Foundation’s mission is to raise funds and provide resources to advance awareness and appreciation of nature through photography. Our vision is to support education, conservation, photographic opportunities, advocacy, and ethical practices in nature photography.
Operating as a charitable 501(c)3 non-profit organization, donations to the Foundation are tax deductible and are instrumental in helping support the future of nature photography, both as a profession and as a pastime.
The Nature Photography Foundation has a number of programs that it supports:
As a proud sponsor of the 2025 NANPA Summit we are continuing ongoing educational programs for college level students by funding scholarships through the Nature Photography Foundation Summit College Photography Scholarship Program. The Foundation funds this scholarship program for students to learn from the industry’s top photography shooters, editors, and publishers.
The Foundation also supports the building and maintenance of Photo Blinds in refuges, wildlife reserves, state/city parks, or other natural areas. The Nature Photography Foundation has helped construct more than 40 photo blinds at wildlife areas across the country giving photographers a chance to photograph nature without disturbing it. Grants of up to $2,500 are awarded to groups interested in building a photo blind at any refuge, wildlife reserve, state/city park, or other natural area.
We present financial grants that allow photographers at all levels of experience to explore special nature-related photographic projects in their communities.
Philip Hyde Grant. This $5,000 grant, funded through individual donations, is awarded annually by the Nature Photography Foundation to an individual NANPA member who is actively pursuing completion of a peer-reviewed environmental project that is consistent with the missions of NANPA and the Foundation.
Janie Moore Greene Grant: This grant of $2500 is awarded bi-annually to a student currently enrolled in or accepted to attend an institution of higher education specializing in the study of photography through the generosity of Janie Moore Greene.
Your contributions help the Foundation achieve its goals. Please consider making a donation today to help us make a difference through nature photography.
